The Rhode Island fire hockey league was started 4 years ago to give fire, police and correction
officers who love to play the game a chance to create even a stronger brotherhood by getting on the ice and competing against each other.

All teams are comprised of only fire, police and correctional officers. No other players are allowed. One would think that this would create a thin talent pool, especially from a small state. In fact the league this year will include at least 2 players who have played professionally in some aspect. There are many players from the Division 1 collegiate ranks all the way to the local C level players. All creating highly competitive games.

The most amount of teams have been 8. This year there will be only 6. though in the future we hope to have more. These teams represent the major union departments in the state including Providence, Cranston, Pawtucket, Warwick, Newport and Woonsocket.

If your in the area off the Cranston Veterens Memorial Ice Rink on a Monday or Wednesday around 8:30 (first game) or 9:30 (second game, Wednesdays only) stop in and enjoy!!
